Overview

PIMCO is on the lookout for an experienced private funds lawyer to handle a variety of legal matters related to its private strategy funds, primarily based in Luxembourg. This role will be located in London, with Luxembourg as a potential option.

We are seeking an experienced private funds lawyer with exceptional intellect and significant expertise in alternative investment funds. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in structuring, marketing, and managing alternative investment vehicles, with exposure to various asset classes such as real estate, corporate credit, private credit, and private equity, along with more traditional 'liquid' funds investing in bonds, fixed income securities, and derivatives.

The successful candidate should possess a deep understanding of the laws and regulations governing the private funds industry and be prepared to collaborate closely with different facets of the business, including product, finance, operations, compliance, and other teams. Additionally, proficiency in advising at the board level and handling regulatory affairs is essential.

Applicants with relevant in-house or private practice experience will be considered for this role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Legal tasks relating to PIMCO's European alternative fund offerings and fund documentation
  • Consulting on the structuring and establishment of regulated and non-regulated alternative investment funds and their managers
  • Drafting legal documents for vehicles (LPA, offering memorandums, articles of association) and agreements with service providers
  • Contractual work related to clients, funds, and third-party agreements
  • Support for various legal functions and projects
  • Collaboration with key stakeholders in the business
  • Development and enhancement of internal processes
  • Analysis and management of regulatory issues impacting PIMCO's private funds platform
  • Structuring Co-Investment deals
  • Supervising external legal counsel

Required Experience

  • Experience in the financial services/asset management industry
  • Knowledge of Luxembourg fund formation and relevant regulations (AIFMD, MiFID, etc.)
  • Experience with private fund distribution
  • Familiarity with SFDR and ESG
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • High level of personal and professional integrity
  • Ability to work autonomously and deliver under pressure
