Tech Transactions Associate in a US Firm with good work/life balance - 2-4 PQE, London

An international US firm with over 40 offices spanning 5 continents is looking for an experienced Associate to expand their technology transactions team in London. The team sees extensive international work with varied matters including technology and IT outsourcing contracts, including SaaS solutions and software licensing arrangements, commercial intellectual property matters, public sector contract negotiation, and data protection issues.

The tech transactions team is looking for a collaborative and innovative individual to work closely with senior Partners on an expanding caseload. This is focused on established and disruptive technologies, bespoke technology, and intellectual property throughout the client lifecycle of product development and product supply, platform implementations, and outsourcing of services and infrastructure. They offer a "British" culture and are known for providing a work/life balance incomparable to other competing firms.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Managing complex technology and outsourcing deals for clients internationally.
  • Advising on contracts for commercial services and supplies, consulting, direct and indirect reseller, introducer, referral and distribution arrangements, outsourcing, technology (including fintech), end-to-end software services, cloud hosting, software licensing and end-user licensing, collaboration and teaming, website terms, and commercial intellectual property.

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Demonstrated track record of high-quality experience commercial technology law years PQE desired, but all levels will be considered), ideally within a national or global law firm.
  • Experience reviewing, drafting and negotiating contracts including, IT outsourcing and technology services, including SaaS solutions and software licensing arrangements, commercial intellectual property, and other commercial contracts.
  • Some experience of contract due diligence in this area.
  • Proven attention to detail as well as organisational ability.
  • The ability to comfortably interact directly with clients, colleagues, and other parties.
  • Data protection knowledge for straight-forward data flows is desirable but non-essential.
  • Experience drafting and negotiating public sector contracts is desirable but non-essential.
