Hours =:35hrs per week

Specific Duties:

  • To fully supervise all aspects of the outlet when on shift
a. to follow all opening, closing and operational procedures all times
b. to ensure that all monies and stock are always protected
c. deal with all customer and staff enquiries and issues, ensuring that when required to, they are reported to the appropriate manager
d. to carry out efficiently and diligently, all the appropriate tasks relating to the area of operation
e. ensure that all financial procedures are being followed and that any issues are reported immediately to the Deputy Manager
f. to ensure ALL Health & Safety procedures are followed at all times
g. record and report any repair issues or Health and Safety problems to the Deputy Manager

  • To deliver an exceptional product and an excellent customer experience
a. to always be punctual, presentable and wearing the agreed type of clothing suitable for a supervisor
b. to always serve customers in a friendly and informative manner and ensure all other staff are doing the same
c. to ensure that all products and promotional advertising are correctly displayed
d. signpost customers to other services and facilities on the campus
e. deal with all customer enquiries and if applicable, ensure the correct information is passed on to the relevant person
f. be fully up to date with all offers and activity that is happening in the outlet
g. ensure all table reservations and room bookings are ready on time and signposted with room reserved notices or table reserved signs
h. maintain full communication with the Kitchen at all times
i. ensure all staff working on your shift know exactly what is happening in the business

  • To assist in training, instructing and supporting the student casual staff
a. to communicate & instruct effectively with the student casual staff to ensure all tasks are carried out
b. to fully supervise the student casual staff in the outlet
c. to assist with the training of and continued monitoring of the student casual staff
d. to ensure that all instructions and information left by the Deputy Manager or Area Hospitality Manager are fully understood and acted on
e. to always lead by example

General Duties
a. Uphold and demonstrate the values and expected staff behaviours of BCUSU in working towards achieving the BCUSU vision
b. Committed to working as part of a team, and in collaboration with the wider BCUSU staff team, to help support the delivery of BCUSUs Strategic Plan

d. Follow all University and BCUSU H&S policies and complete all mandatory training
e. Complete any other training and supervision sessions identified as beneficial to the job role or post holder
f. Uphold confidentiality and comply with the Data Protection Act and GDPR
g. Maintain full compliance with BCUSUs administrative and financial systems and procedures
h. Ensuring BCUSUs aspirations to reduce our environmental impact are delivered
i. Make decisions within the defined level of responsibility
j. Effectively communicate with University Staff, Students and relevant external stakeholders
k. Undertake other duties that may be assigned by the employer, as might reasonably be expected within the grade of the post
