Age UK Gloucestershire's mission is to create the best environment in the UK for people to age gracefully.
We are on the lookout for a new Treasurer to become part of our board of trustees/directors and contribute to making our mission a reality.
We are a small, independent Charity in Gloucestershire with a focus on dispelling negative aging stereotypes, fostering age-friendly communities, promoting purpose among older individuals, and providing assistance to older people and their families.
Role Overview:
- The Treasurer will assist the Board in overseeing the charity's finances and act as a Trustee/Board Director. Responsibilities include ensuring the financial governance of the charity is sound, implementing effective financial measures, controls, and procedures, and updating the Board regularly on the charity's financial status.
Additionally, the Treasurer will share the responsibilities and qualities expected of all trustees.
This voluntary role offers expense reimbursement and entails a 3-year term on the board, with potential for re-appointment for up to 6 years.
Qualifications:
- A finance professional with knowledge of charity finances is preferred. However, we welcome individuals eager to learn, drawing from commercial experience and SME understanding. Ideally, you should be a strategic thinker capable of managing risks and opportunities, a clear communicator who can convey financial information effectively, and willing to actively engage in tasks such as forecasting, budgeting, and liaising with auditors. Most importantly, you should share our commitment to improving the lives of older individuals in Gloucestershire.
