An exciting opportunity is available to work as a Health Care Assistant in the Ophthalmology department at The Countess of Chester Hospital. This department is home to 7 specialized Consultants focusing on Oculoplastics, Glaucoma, Corneal, Retina, and Age-Related Macular Degeneration, with a particular expertise in cataract surgery. The multidisciplinary team includes various healthcare professionals such as registered nurses, opticians, and admin staff.

You will have the chance to enhance your ophthalmic nursing assistant skills by rotating across the three different areas within the department, ensuring each day brings unique challenges and learning experiences.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Assist the RGN in evaluating care and documenting patient information
  • Support the team in providing safe, effective, and compassionate care, utilizing diagnostic equipment
  • Participate in training and gain competency sign off before independent work

Requirements:

Essential Qualifications:

  • NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care
