Due to continued growth we are now seeking a Head Groundsman to form part of the Operations Team.

The Role
The role will involve supporting the Operation Manager with respect to the following duties and responsibilities:

• To be responsible for maintaining the Academy Grounds to the highest standards of excellence.
• To take appropriate measures to ensure that the Academy grounds and external buildings are graffiti and litter free.
• To inspect regularly, record and report on the external Academy fabric and grounds taking appropriate action as indicated by the Head.
• To monitor, maintain and report on the condition of the Academy grounds.
• To ensure that visiting contractors and other such companies or services that visit the Academy carry out their duties with due regard and respect for the Academy buildings, its grounds and people working within it.
• To ensure that all visitors conform to the Health and Safety Regulations laid down in the Academy policy.
• To be responsible for all matters relating to external maintenance.
• To maintain all shrub beds, planters, tubs and hanging baskets to the highest standards.
• To maintain the athletics track and the synthetic pitch to a safe standard of play.
• To liaise and advise the Head on improvements that may benefit the Academy in the short and long term.
• To liaise and advise the Head on purchasing the most suitable equipment available to achieve the standards required.
• To maintain discipline and foster good working relations amongst staff and students within the Academy.
• To prepare and implement successfully work schedules, work practices and rotas to achieve the standards required by the Head.
• To liaise, advise and operate to strict budgets allocated to maintain the Academy grounds, ensuring this budget does not overspend.
• To comply with Sandwell Academy's Corporate Dress Policy.
• To carry out other reasonable tasks from time to time as directed by the Head.
• To work in accordance with the Academy's safeguarding policy
