James Brindley is a stand-alone Academy based in a wide variety of locations across the City of Birmingham.

In the course of a school year, we educate over 3,000 young people for periods ranging from a few days in hospital to several years in one of our teaching centres.

The majority of our young people have complex medical needs, and many have been out of education for a significant period of time prior to joining the Academy.

We offer a full-time curriculum to young people from EYFS to KS5 and our aim is always to enable them to 'close the gap' and to make outstanding progress during the time they are with us.


The purpose of the role is to develop and implement comprehensive marketing and communication strategies to enhance the Academy's brand, increase pupil referrals and improve engagement with all of the Academy's stakeholders.


This will involve coordinating and facilitating the administration of the Academy's communication media, whilst providing administrative and communication support to the Referrals and Outreach Training Team.

Knowledge of digital media software and understanding of marketing are vital parts of this job role as is excellent communication and record keeping skills.

You will have working knowledge of school website compliance as well as experience of coordinating information across a complex organisation.

A qualification in marketing/digital media (or relevant experience) along with a recognised photography qualification are also essential.
