This ethical, sector leading firm is looking to hire an experienced engineering manager with a solid background in industrial environments to join their team on a full-time, permanent basis.

This ERF facility processes over 300 tonnes of non-hazardous residual waste annually.Additional environmental benefits include diverting up to 95% of waste from landfills and supplying power to 60,000 homes in the South East.
The Role:
The ideal candidate should be a skilled Engineering and Maintenance Manager with experience in waste-to-energy, ERF, or gas/steam turbine power station operations.
As the head of the engineering department, it's crucial that you can oversee contractors to meet KPIs, supervise waste-to-energy or power industry processes, manage PSSR regulations, establish maintenance management systems, manage a £10 million budget, ensure adherence to Health and Safety protocols (e.g., method statements, risk assessments, signing in procedures), negotiate equipment prices, and more. You will have sole responsibility for overseeing Mechanical, Electrical, and C&I Engineers, as well as supporting the office team.
Therefore, prior hands-on experience and proficiency in both electrical and mechanical engineering are essential for training, mentoring, and project assistance.
Requirements:
- Educated to degree level and/or with a relevant formal business qualification.
- Previous experience in waste-to-energy/power generation/ERF facilities or similar settings.
- Understanding of waste legislation/health and safety in the power industry.
- Demonstrated strong communication skills and experience managing a medium-sized team.
- Previous involvement in management meetings and employee assessments.
- Previous experience in planning PPM schedules and utilizing CMMS. (Preferred) Membership in the Chartered Institute of Waste Management or similar.
