SEND Teaching Assistant required with effect from 01 September 2024.

33.75 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8.30am – 4.00pm, term time only.

We are looking to appoint Teaching Assistants to work within our new Resource Base class, which opens in September 2024.

The class will support children who have an EHCP, and who have a range of additional learning needs.

St Paul's CE Primary School offers a truly inclusive environment, meeting the needs of SEND children well, and the successful candidates will join our team, helping us to create a safe and supportive environment, helping children to overcome any barriers and to make progress with their learning and personal development.

You must be able to demonstrate initiative, be child-centred in your approach, and have the motivation and ability to relate well to children who often need a range of different strategies to help them to be successful.

Across school there is a strong focus on the nurture and care for all our children, their mental health and wellbeing and the delivery of a curriculum that inspires and engages children in learning.

Staff at our school must demonstrate a desire to engage in professional development, to ensure a high quality of provision, a willingness to be flexible and adapt calmly to ever changing situations, and to work with a range of different agencies.

Knowledge of de-escalation strategies and Team Teach, whilst not essential, would be desirable.

Applications must come from candidates with a Level 3 TA qualification, and experience and/or knowledge of working with SEND children would be desirable.

Applicants must:

·Love working with children

·Have experience of working with children with Autism

·Be able to use Makaton

·Have the skills and knowledge to support children with a range of needs, using effective strategies to promote positive attitudes to learning

·Work well with other staff and agencies

·Be motivated, have a positive attitude and enjoy a challenge

·Experience and/or qualifications within the area of SEND

·Have experience of running SALT, Occupational Therapy or Physio programmes
