As Controls & Automation Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting the implementation of safe sustainable automated processes, required to drive CI initiatives within existing processes, play a leading role in the specification of new automated lines or development of assembly cells.
Working from their manufacturing facility in Staffordshire The Controls & Automation Engineer will be responsible for:Knowledge of ABB and Siemens S7 Programming is essential.
Directly involved with diagnosing & physically delivering solutionsProvide sustainable automated solutions that communicates performance efficiently with the end userDaily dialogue with the Production team to ensure clear understanding of the business needsDevelop & maintain process documentationDevelop and implement process improvement strategies delivered through uptime, quality improvements and cycle time reductionMaintain a grasp on daily performance (OEE) and drive improvementsLead Continuous Improvement activities across the departmentEffective management of program back-ups and version controlInvestigate, troubleshoot & resolve automation failuresEliminate the risk of spill of non-conforming product through the processes with automated solutions.
The successful candidate should be qualified to a minimum HNC level or equivalent in Manufacturing/Electrical Engineering and have a sound knowledge of ABB and Siemens S7 Programming.
