We are looking for someone with a passion for delivering the highest quality of Stroke Rehabilitation and Care to join our team.

Rehabilitation assistants in our service work under the direction of stroke specialist therapists to deliver planned integrated therapy sessions. Working towards patient-led goals, empowering patients in their recovery following a Stroke and optimising independence.

The team, including Speech & Language Therapists, Psychologist, Occupational Therapists and Physiotherapists, work closely with Nursing colleagues to provide a high-quality service to enable patients to reach their rehabilitation potential.

Our team of rehabilitation assistants provide a seven-day service representing Physiotherapy, Occupational therapy and Speech and Language Therapy.


The In-Patient Stroke Specialist Rehabilitation Unit is based at the Vale Community Hospital in Dursley, and provides Gloucestershire residents with a dedicated Therapy-led service in a Community Hospital environment.


You should have experience of healthcare environments, an interest in Stroke rehabilitation and a passion for working closely with people.


To carry out short term rehabilitation programs and activities of daily living with individuals and carers as planned by the multi - disciplinary team.

To contribute to the progression of Therapy to achieve service users goals.

To undertake and contribute to care which has been planned by the Multi-disciplinary team.


To monitor progress and function of individuals within their rehabilitation programme and contribute to the ongoing assessment of their needs by liaising with team colleagues.
