Textile Operator.
Within our Weaving department.

Job Overview
Efficiently weave cloth to a high quality. Training will be given in all aspects of the role in the Weaving departments.

Responsibilities and Duties After Training

  • Running and operating the looms in the Weaving department efficiently.
  • Repairing any broken warp and weft threads.
  • Ensure the supply of weft yarn is adequate to fully cover the jobs needed.
  • Attention to detail ; piece length per job.
  • Monitoring looms for any weaving defects, colour changes and patterning.
  • Show good communication throughout the department / mill.
  • Reporting any faults / recurring faults to management.
  • Learn the procedures for setting up looms, remove and replace beams. Downloading designs.
  • Adhere to safety instructions, risk assessments and safety legislation.
  • Ensure general cleanliness of work area and maintain good housekeeping routines.
  • Ensure a safe working environment is maintained.
  • Any other duties that are deemed necessary to fulfil the needs of the business.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Some knowledge and experience of looms / têxtile machinery and production techniques preferred but not essential as training will be given.
  • Ability to read and interpret pattern tickets, training will be given.
  • Knowledge/understanding of different weft, warp, shades and count/grist of different yarns preferred but not essential as training will be given.
  • Good eyesight and attention to detail.
  • Good manual dexterity.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Maintain a good level of general health/fitness, the ability to work on your feet for extended periods of time and manual handling are key parts of this role.

Pay:
From £11.44 per hour

Expected hours: 39 per week
