Company: Reed HR is collaborating with a leading Educational Institution located in South West London in their search for an Employee Relations Officer to join their team on a permanent basis.

About the Role: This position offers a blend of remote and in-office work, requiring occasional travel to the office.

Key Purpose: Work together with a team to provide HR guidance and assistance to line managers and staff throughout the employee life cycle, with a specialized focus on employee relations.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Coaching and guiding line managers on various employee relations matters such as absence management, performance issues, grievances, disciplinary actions, and probation casework
  • Providing advice to employees and managers on employment terms, policies, and procedures
  • Assisting and advising managers with meetings related to absence and performance management, as well as supporting referrals to occupational health
  • Collaborating with HR colleagues to ensure smooth notification and processing of payroll-related changes
  • Aiding the HR Manager in conducting training sessions for line managers and other management development activities
  • Assisting the HR Manager in handling HR processes like contract terminations, redundancy consultations, and reorganization meetings
  • Teaming up with HR and other business units to identify and implement initiatives and projects aimed at enhancing service delivery
  • Participating in meetings with managers to provide updates on casework progress, detect issues or patterns
  • Taking meeting minutes during investigations, hearings, and appeals
  • Supporting recruitment panels when necessary

Person Specifications:

Practical experience in handling ER cases including sickness, grievances, disciplinary matters, and performance

Proven expertise in coaching and assisting line managers in staff management and change management
