Our summer placement programme are for a period of 8-12 weeks, during which, you will have the opportunity to work within our energy systems team, part of the energy unit, where you'll have the chance to work on large scale projects alongside our teams.

Our Energy Systems team combines specialist engineering, technical, economics and management expertise and works alongside other disciplines, such as experts in low-carbon technology, carbon management, environmental and social, and others, in order to help our clients find solutions that drive the transition to low carbon energy systems.

We do not have a formal structure for our internships so you can really make the role your own.

The more you get involved and the more questions you ask, the more you will gain from your experience with us.

You'll be working with graduates, experienced professionals, and other students so an internship with us is the perfect opportunity to learn from a variety of people while understanding our values and culture.

It's also a great chance to get involved with real projects while gaining relevant experience.

  • To join us for a summer placement you must currently be at university and studying one of the following degree disciplines:
  • Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, or related fields including Data Science
  • Economics or related fields including Operations Research
  • Renewable Energy/ Power Systems / Electrical Engineering or related fields


You'll be working with graduates, experienced professionals, and other students so a placement with us is the perfect opportunity to learn from a variety of people while understanding our values and culture.

It's also a great chance to get involved with real projects while gaining relevant experience.
We do not have a formal structure for our placements, so you can really make the role your own.

We are looking for students with the following characteristics:

  • A methodical approach to problem solving
  • The ability to use your initiative to undertake tasks efficiently and independently.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills, which allow you to confidently liaise with clients and team members.
  • Excellent written communication and attention to detail with the ability to demonstrate accurate technical drawings and good report writing.
