Are you enthusiastic about creating a positive impact on the lives of children who exhibit highly challenging behaviour? Do you possess exceptional interpersonal skills, empathy, and a strong desire to assist children in overcoming their behavioural difficulties? We are currently seeking a committed and compassionate Learning Mentor to join our team and provide support to children in need.


We are searching for a skilled professional who can closely collaborate with students, families, and educators to implement effective strategies, enhance social and emotional well-being, and foster a secure and supportive environment.


Responsibilities:

  • Deliver individualized support to children with challenging behavior, both within the classroom and designated support areas.
  • Collaborate with the school's behavior support team to develop and implement personalized behavior plans.
  • Assist teachers in implementing behavior management strategies within the classroom setting.
  • Perform behavioral assessments, observations, and data collection to monitor progress and adjust intervention strategies as necessary.
  • Cultivate positive relationships with students, parents, and staff to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
  • Provide tailored interventions, social skills training, and techniques for emotional regulation to students.
  • Aid students in building selfesteem, confidence, and selfcontrol through targeted interventions and positive reinforcement.
  • Work closely with other professionals, including psychologists, social workers, and speech therapists, to ensure a comprehensive and holistic approach to student support.

Requirements:

  • Demonstrated experience working with children or adolescents exhibiting challenging behavior.
  • Profound knowledge of behavior management techniques, positive behavior support, and evidencebased interventions.
  • Strong observational and assessment skills to identify triggers and behavioral patterns.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to collaborate effectively with students, parents, and staff.
  • Empathy, patience, and resilience when working with children facing behavioral challenges.
  • Ability to remain calm in difficult situations and utilize deescalation techniques when necessary.
  • Familiarity with relevant legislation, policies, and safeguarding procedures.

Preferred:

  • Additional certifications or training in behavior analysis, counseling, or therapeutic approaches.
  • Experience working with children diagnosed with specific behavioral conditions such as ADHD, autism spectrum disorders, or emotional and behavioral disorders.
