Experience essential (not necessarily in dental industry).

Reception Duties & Safety

  • Monitor daily opening and closing procedures including cash handling and banking procedures
  • Optimise diaries through efficient management processes
  • Share customer feedback with the Practice Manager and work together to create solutions and implement improvements. Be able to handle and diffuse complaints in the first instance, highlight issues and complaints where appropriate
  • Monitor compliance with all practice procedures ensuring own and others safety
  • Ensure waiting areas, corridors, stairs and immediate external areas are kept clean, tidy and free from slip and trip hazards
  • Read and comply with practice safeguarding policy, health and safety policy statement and protocol
  • If designated to deputise in the Practice Managers absence; respond to any incidents or issues, act as the responsible person, ensuring the implementation of risk assessments and the correct reporting of accidents and injuries

Team Working

  • Undertake; recruitment, team scheduling, induction, training, coaching to improve performance, appraisals and return to work discussions
  • Work as part of the team, being flexible supporting any other areas as required including covering within surgery (if qualified) as necessary. Liaise closely with nurses and dentists to ensure smart diary management
  • Attend and participate in daily team meetings, training and performance reviews.
  • Be vigilant and report any equipment defects, maintenance or safety issues or any accidents to the Practice Manager immediately. Cooperate with any investigations in order to prevent reoccurring incidents
  • Any other duties as required including supporting other practices

Person Specification

  • Experience of managing / supervising, coaching and training
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Customer service skills, previous experience of working on a busy reception in a customer focussed organisation desired
  • Demonstrates flexibility
  • Able to build strong relationships with the practice team
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skill
  • Ability to use IT and operate a computer based systems

Salary:
£9.50-£10.50 per hour

Schedule:

  • Day shift
  • Monday to Friday
