We are seeking a passionate and dedicated SEN and SEMH Teaching Assistant to join a well established school in WF 8.

Many of the pupils who attended this setting have experienced disruption to their school life, often from an early age. As a key member of our staff, you will work closely with SEN and SEMH students to provide tailored support, guidance, and encouragement to ensure they reach their full potential.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one or small group support to students with SEN/SEMH needs, both inside and outside the classroom.
  • Assist the class teacher in implementing Individual Education Plans and Behaviour Support Plans.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment where all students feel supported and valued.
  • Support students with emotional regulation, social skills development, and conflict resolution.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and external professionals to ensure a holistic approach to student support.
  • Monitor and track student progress, providing feedback to the SENCO and other relevant staff members.
  • Participate in relevant training and professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge in SEN and SEMH education.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with students with SEN or SEMH needs is highly desirable.
  • A compassionate and patient approach, with the ability to build positive relationships with students.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to meet the diverse needs of students.
  • A commitment to promoting equality, diversity, and inclusion within the school community.
  • Ability to work 5 days a week.
