Fourblue is working with an expert team who deal with multi utility connections. Taking care of the installation, maintenance, fault finding & management along with routine inspections of utility assets. Providing support in multiple industries including Renewable Energy.


This is an opportunity for a Design Engineer to get involved in high value contestable and non-constable works, working on an array of projects and a chance to expand your skillset and drive your career forward.

Responsibilities of the Design Engineer:

  • Select and specify primary equipment and design HV substations from 11kV to 132kV
  • Work closely with the inhouse CAD drafting team to generate equipment layouts, cable route drawings, construction, and legal plans for new HV connections
  • Design secondary control wiring and protection schemes for substations and prepare protection reports.
  • Produce AC/DC schematics for protection, control, and SCADA panels, and liaise with our inhouse panel assemblers on the construction of panels.
  • Select HV and LV cables and design cable routes
  • Prepare design packages for DNO contestable works
  • Produce designs for electrical balance of plant works
  • Attend sites for inspection and design purposes and attend manufacturers factory acceptance tests when required.
  • Build relationships with clients, and attend design and project coordination meetings with clients, their consultants, and DNO and TNO representatives

Criteria for the Design Engineer:

  • Experience of high voltage electrical engineering design (33 kV and above) within the electrical contracting or utility industries
  • Degree in Electrical Engineering
