The ideal candidate will be a General Ophthalmologist with a subspecialty interest in Ocular Plastics which supports or is complimentary to existing team.

Ophthalmology is part of the Planned Care Directorate at East Cheshire NHS Trust (ECT) which is one of three Directorates within the Trust.

The post holder is expected to have general ophthalmology experience and the post holder is expected to be fully competent in phacoemulsification - cataract surgery.

Applicants must be on the General Medical Council Specialist Register or within six months of being admitted (at the date of interview) to the Register for trainees if in a training programme within the UK.

Being available during the working week so that medical and nursing staff can communicate and consult freely.
NHS Medical and Dental salaries are set at a national level.

For new starters not already working to UK Medical and Dental terms and conditions of service will be appointed to the minimum paypoint.

If you have lived or worked abroad for 6 months or more in the last 5 years you will need to obtain an overseas police clearance.

Clinical training and experience equivalent to that required for gaining UK CCT (Certificate of Completion of training).
Broad range of recent experience in Ophthalmology.
Fully competent in high volume phacoemulsification – cataract surgery.
Fully competent in Oculoplastic management including surgery.
Fellowship training in Oculoplastic.
