The contracted posts are initially for a two-year contract and remuneratedon an hourly rate of £ to £ depending on experience.
Cumbria Health are a leading provider of primary care services acrossNorth Cumbria supporting both daytime general practice and Out of Hoursalongside several other services and are seeking to commence the new dentalservice from beginning September 2024.
These exciting part time dental associate posts are located directly offjunction 42 of the M6 Carlisle andlocated in the newly establisheddental facility at Cumbria HealthHeadquarters, CumbriaHealth Limited 4 Wavell Drive Rosehill Industrial Estate Carlisle CA1 2SE.
The practice focus is urgent dental care provisionand dental stabilisation. The service will be wholly NHS.
Each of the two newly equipped surgery has digitalradiography and the practice digital DPT. The new team will have practice manager working alongside aclinical director, dentists, nurse and therapists nurses working to deliverhigh quality care to the people of Carlisle and wider North Cumbriacommunities
Candidates are expected to be a fully qualifieddental nurse, have previous experience in a leadership or management role.

Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will play a key rolein developing the UDAC to reach its potential, ensuring the executive team arekept updated with current affairs, potential workstream opportunities andfinancial threats.
Working closely with the clinical director,the post holder will take responsibility for all business aspects of thepractice and must have the ability to provide strategic guidance andplanning. As a Practice Manager, thesuccessful candidate must keep abreast of contractual and compliance changesand update the executive promptly to allow them to make informed decisions andimplement improvements and legislative change where necessary.
You will be required to demonstrate robustleadership qualities, achieving practice targets through a combination ofpersonal involvement and delegation to appropriate members of the team.
This is a varied andcomplex role and requires the successful candidate to be adaptable and calm instressful situations. The Practicemanager will need to provide guidance and solutions to unexpected challengesand resolve building, staff, and patient problems as they arise. Time management and adaptability are key tothe role.

Take line management responsibility for dental receptionists and dental nurses including responsibility for motivation, objective-setting and appraisals Arrange for and undertake the recruitment and selection of permanent and temporary staff Arrange staff inductions and training Organise disciplinary and grievance arrangements Keep and monitor staff records particularly regarding sickness absence and annual leave Keep the practices contracts of employment up to date Co-ordinate arrangements and conduct staff appraisals Organise, attend and participate in practice meetingsFinance
Take responsibility for and supervise all banking procedures, including deposits, payments and checking bank statements Take responsibility for and supervise NHS activity returns and receipts, checking monthly schedules Arrange the payment of all staff and associates Ensure the operation of the patient payment policy and the collection of outstanding debts Check invoices and prepare payment cheques for signature.Patients
