You will be joining the Market & Valuation Risk Management (MVRM) - XVA Valuation Control (VC) Team, a centralised function of valuation and risk professionals within the Chief Risk Office (CRO) responsible for the independent valuation of fair value/trading positions for Deutsche Bank.

The team's remit covers market consistent modelling and valuation of all Fair Value positions.

VC acts as internal advisor on valuation issues and operates as a center of excellence for valuation, reserving, day 1 recognition and prudent valuation.

Your key responsibilities

  • Be part of a team within MVRM, dedicated to supporting the group in executing their XVA Valuations and Market Risk Management mandate
  • Working closely with XVA VC colleagues across all locations in the development and enhancement of Independent Price Verification (IPV) methodologies for XVA and providing technical support to the IPV production teams
  • Identifying and effectively communicating optimal solutions to complex problems, as well as producing required documentation to stakeholders of various seniorities both internally and externally
  • Engaging with the Global Strategic Analytics (GSA) and Front Office Technology teams to influence the development of strategic Front to Back infrastructure framework for XVA
  • Ensuring adherence to and supporting the maintenance of key governance documentation such as the Global Valuation Control Policy and other valuation related policies
  • Attend and contribute to key internal governance forums including, the XVA Working Group, Valuation Control Oversight Committee (VCOC), and external regulatory forums

Your skills and experience

  • Excellent analytical and quantitative skills with an understanding of the different models used for the valuation of overthecounter (OTC) derivatives that will allow for a solid understanding of the XVA space
  • Clear understanding and working experience in the concepts of fair value and valuation uncertainty
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex concepts, tailoring the message to the audience. Including the ability to present to and influence senior stakeholders
  • Knowledge of Python, Visual Basic Application (VBA) or similar programming languages would be an advantage
