We are recruiting on behalf of a local authority in Greater Manchester (Hybrid) for a Financial Management Information Officer. This is a role with primary focus on assisting in the preparation and management of the Department's budget.

Purpose

  • To work with Budget managers on a one to one basis to ensure that projects are cost effective and provide value for money (Project Appraisal).Production of statistics and completion of reconciliations
  • To develop, maintain and provide, in conjunction with Senior Managers in the service area, a range of financial information for budget holders including unit costs and budget monitoring information.
  • To assist in the arrangement and administration of a programme of financial training for all staff within the Department.
  • To prepare budget monitoring information for any area of the Department's activity.
  • Experience of working in a relevant financial setting for a period of 3 years with at least 2 years in a Local Authority setting.
  • Must be either AAT qualified or part qualified ACCA/ACA
  • A high degree of knowledge and experience of creating and maintaining spreadsheets in order to analyse complex financial information.
