Band 6 : Clinical Nurse Specialist Learning Disability Rotational Post

37:5 hrs Monday to Friday An exciting Rotational opportunity has arisen for Registered Nurse Learning Disability to join the Vulnerabilities Team and Children's Community Learning Disabilities Team at University Hospitals Birmingham The Children's Community Learning Disabilities/Vulnerabilities Teams are a passionate and dedicated team of Learning Disability, Mental Health, General nurses and Dementia Specialists who are looking for an enthusiastic, passionate and motivated RNLD who has acute and Community experience working with Children, young people (CYP) and Adults who have a Learning Disability, and or Autism, Mental Health Conditions, Dementia, sensory impairment or loss. You must have transferable skills and expertise and be willing to work as part of the team in shaping and transforming Community and acute care The case load is diverse and we work Collaboratively to meet the health needs of this group of CYP and Adults in the community or attending the hospital, either as an inpatient or outpatient to ensure that their holistic care needs are met, providing and supporting specialist intervention, working together adopting a person centred approach to optimize health and wellbeing, striving to address health inequalities and empower individuals to have independence, choice and control The post requires a flexible approach and the individual to work across the Community and four sites: Main duties of the job The post is a rotational post between the Community Children's Learning Disability Team and Vulnerabilities Team on a 6 month basis The role is diverse and requires the post holder to review , assess Children young people (CYP) and Adults, liaise, support and educate staff, implement new ways of working, support reasonable adjustments and work collaboratively with CYP and Adults , families, and carers in the Community, when planning admissions, acute inpatient care through to discharge ensuring a positive experience You will be required to work Trust wide across all sites, acting as a role model, working collaboratively, sharing expertise across multi-disciplinary teams. You will need excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills, be able to work as part of a team or on your own. You will need to be resilient to an ever changing workload be able to manage and prioritize, ensuring a high standard care is delivered to our patients.   • Registered Nurse Learning Disability on the NMC Register
  • Evidence of post registration CPD / Post registration qualification in appropriate area of speciality or professional knowledge supplemented by specialist experience and short
  • courses to FHEQ Level 6
Experience Essential
  • Evidence and ability to revalidate as required by the NMC.
  • Significant post registration experience. with evidence of passion/enthusiasm and knowledge for the associated area of specialist practice
  • Evidence of achievements and career development in current post and of ongoing professional development/competence.
  • Demonstrate specialist knowledge underpinned by theory and CPD relevant to speciality.
  • Experience and enthusiasm for teaching / assessing and supervising others in a clinical setting.
  • Experience of working in a multi-disciplinary and cross agency work environment
  • Can demonstrate understanding/experience / willingness to be a practice-based supervisor / assessor as detailed in the Nursing & Midwifery Council (NMC) standards for student
