About the Role

Balfour Beatty is in search of an EV Electrical Trainer to join their team of professional trainers for delivering the City and Guilds Electric Vehicle and Electrical training programme based in Langley.

The main goal of this role is to provide various electrical training modules including:

  • Design and installation of domestic and small commercial electric vehicle charging setups
  • Design and Quality Assurance of Larger scale electric vehicle charging installations
  • Installation and maintenance of Larger scale electric vehicle charging points
  • Level 3 Award in the Requirements for Electrical Installations BS 7671:2018
  • BB Internal ESSW
  • BB Internal MSSW

What You'll Be Doing

  • Support a variety of HSES training activities in the UK to facilitate the delivery of the UK HSES strategy
  • Contribute to product development by collaborating with internal subject matter experts to align with the company's strategy
  • Liaise with C&G, IOSH, IEMA, HSE, and other relevant industry and regulatory bodies
  • Actively deliver training programmes in both physical and virtual classroom settings
  • Ensure delivery of high-quality, innovative C&G certified courses that meet all employee learning needs, C&G requirements, and business budgets
  • Develop and deliver high-quality, engaging HSES certified courses meeting employee learning needs and business budgets
  • Embed UK core HSES standards and procedures into training plans when possible
  • Maintain accurate training records and reports by collaborating closely with the administrative team
  • Maintain technical excellence in all training materials
  • Share insights across projects and business units, contributing to continuous improvement of the UK strategy through communities of practice

Who We're Looking For

We're seeking an ECS electrician with the following qualifications:

  • Level 3 Award in the Requirements for Electrical Installations BS 7671:2018

And ideally:

  • Design and installation of domestic and small commercial electric vehicle charging setups
  • Design and Quality Assurance of Larger scale electric vehicle charging installations
  • Installation and maintenance of Larger scale electric vehicle charging points
  • Possess a formal training qualification equivalent to a Level 3 Award in education and training (AET)

Further Requirements of the Role:

  • Demonstrated previous training experience
  • Experience in designing, delivering, and sourcing electrical training
  • Knowledge or experience in the construction industry or related environment
  • Proficiency in Learning Management Systems
  • Ability in internal stakeholder and client management
  • Capability in managing relationships with external suppliers
  • Strong communication skills to engage and influence at all levels
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
  • Reliable, proactive, and able to meet deadlines
  • Effective coordination and prioritization of tasks
  • Ability to deliver high levels of service coupled with organizational and planning skills
  • Experience in designing, delivering, and sourcing HSE training
  • Proficiency in Learning Management Systems
  • Strong internal stakeholder and client management, and external supplier relationship management skills
