When you get a business that is acquiring all the time, it also comes with staff too, so the payroll gets bigger and so do the demands of the business
After a very strong year with multiple acquisitions, they are in need of a Payroll Specialist to join their team to support them in the growth of the business.
One thing I can assure you is that no two days will be the same, there is always something going on, something has changed or something big is about to happen, you just have to be there for an hour, and you will see and experience this for yourself.
The role of being a good payroll professional is obvious so I won't bore you with the details of the job because if you are reading this, you would have probably served your time in payroll and looking for something new.
What I can tell you is it's probably up there in the top five biggest payrolls in the Midlands (split across a big team).
They have over 8 different payroll cycles with over 18500 people on it and growing. A mixture of weekly, four weekly and monthly. Then you have query resolution, maternity pay, paternity pay, court orders and sick pay, you'll get it all hereYou will need to be hot on legislation, knowing the fundamentals of payroll and being able to do manual calculations where needed is particularly important.
Because of the sheer pace and volume, it's a very buzzy environment and people that work there love it as if it's kind of a drug.
There will be a time of pressure to deliver but also the rewards and satisfaction you get from that are priceless, as you willhave a solid team around you and managers that will back you and trust you.
- that's the difference hereSo if you are an inquisitive payroller, looking for something to prove and wanting to learn, I would encourage you to apply.
Full training will be provided on their systems as well as an intensive foundation course in Payroll to further your understanding, once you have mastered that, then it's off to CIPP to further and better your knowledge in the world of payroll professionals.
If you are going to do it - Do it proper
