Oxon Park is currently looking for a Lead Quality Inspector to join a subcontract precision engineering company in Wooburn Green, High Wycombe.

Our client holds UKAS approval to ISO 9001 and specializes in high-precision CNC machining of a diverse range of components, from intricate to simpler parts.

They continually invest in cutting-edge machining technology, enabling them to provide a comprehensive engineering service encompassing CNC milling, turning, and grinding.

Job Details:

  • Position: Lead Quality Inspector
  • Employment Type: Full Time, Permanent
  • Hours: 40 hours per week (with overtime possibility)
  • Work Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8am – 4:30pm (flexible hours)

Key Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in the use of Mitutoyo CMM protocol and machines, as well as other CMM packages
  • Experience with handheld measuring equipment such as verniers, micrometers, bore mics, and thread gauges
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret and measure parts according to drawing specifications, tolerances, and finishing requirements
  • Ability to utilize all inspection equipment, including height gauges
  • Generating accurate dimensional reports for records and customer needs
  • Experience in creating First Article Inspection Reports
  • Identifying and addressing nonconforming parts internally
  • Inspecting subcontracted work and transitioning it to subsequent processes
  • Conducting final inspections of parts before dispatch, both visually and dimensionally
  • Investigating customer rejections and implementing corrective actions in collaboration with the Quality Manager

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of AS9102 FAIRS
  • Background in Aerospace standards
  • Prior exposure to Contract Review procedures
  • Experience with MRP systems
  • Familiarity with QA tools and protocols like 8D, 5Y, ISHIKAWA, and Problem-Solving techniques
  • Understanding of customer quality requirements
