Job descriptionResponsible for working alongside the Manager of children's residential home. Ensuring that our service users receive the highest standard of support/care appropriate to their individual needs.
Training
We will provide training required for the role including being put through Level 3, 4 or 5 QCF/NVQ Residential Childcare Qualification.
Blossom Care Group is committed to the health, safety, welfare, wellbeing and development of the young people and children; it has a duty of care too.
Main Duties:
- A genuine empathy for young people, supporting them to achieve their goals and ambitions
- Build and develop relationships with our young people and encourage them to participate fully in the opportunities offered within the home
- Plan and participate fully in a working rota, this will include evenings, sleep inns and weekends
- Build strong working relationships with external agencies such as Local Authorities and other Health/Social Care professionals
- Conduct formal key work sessions with young people and produce reports for each session
- Be responsible for the effective Safeguarding of the young people within your care and understand how to raise any concerns
- Support our young people with everyday day tasks such as cooking, cleaning, medical appointments, meetings etc.
Shift patters are normally:
1 day on and 2 days off. This will be either be 10 or 11 shifts per month (dependent upon the number of days in the month) + min 6 sleep inns
A typical 11 shift month with 8 sleeps and 1 bank shift per month & signing bonus of £500 pays £ 31,100.
Overtime is paid after completing 170 working hours in the month.
Signing Bonus for qualified staff is £500
On Call cover is paid at £35 per night
Sleeps inns are paid at £60 per sleep in
Ideal experience preferred:
- Experience of working within a children and young adult residential environment
- An understanding of relevant legislation relating to the care of young people
- Experience of working with young people that have social, emotional and/or behavioural difficulties
Should have:
- Full driving license
- Ideally
Own transport
- Ideally
- Available to work at least 3 shifts in a week and sleep ins
