Bespoke furniture makers, Longpré, founded in 1990 by master cabinet maker Paul Longpré and designer Helen Moyers, are based in the centre of the historic town of Bruton, Somerset.

As bespoke craftspeople, we create the finest free-standing and fitted furniture to individual specification for many of the world's most prestigious residential and commercial addresses.

Role summary

As an exclusive luxury brand, our bespoke projects are high value and strategically complex, spanning the luxury residential, prestigious hospitality and flagship commercial sectors.

The design team works within the wider projects team, creating detailed technical drawings from initial design concept through to manufacture.

The main focus of the role will be preparing complex technical drawings in 2D AutoCAD with some drafting/modelling in 3D SolidWorks and SketchUp.

The quality of draftsmanship must be to the highest standards to reflect the complex bespoke furniture designs.

Liaising directly with our clients to understand and develop their design requirements, our senior design team manages the entire lifecycle of the drawing process.

Alongside technical expertise, we are, therefore, looking for a talented professional with strong interpersonal and communication skills to excel in this important client facing role.

Role responsibilities
Manage the entire lifecycle of the drawing process from initial design concept to manufacture.

Produce high quality, millimetre accurate drawings, predominantly in 2D AutoCAD with some drafting/modelling in 3D SolidWorks and SketchUp.

Create detailed lists of hardware for procurement.

Manage the drawing process working to predetermined milestones to meet production programmes.

Attend client meetings and site surveys off-site in the UK and overseas.

Attend regular in-house, cross-functional project meetings.

Identify opportunities to improve process and contribute to the design team's programme of continuous improvement.

Technical skills
Excellent 2D AutoCAD skills.

SolidWorks, SketchUp or other 3D drafting/modelling experience advantageous.

Knowledge of furniture and specialist joinery construction methods advantageous.

Knowledge of fixtures, fittings and hardware relevant to the furniture industry advantageous.

Knowledge of a wide range of materials such as timber, metal, glass, stone etc advantageous.

Personal attributes
A keen appreciation of bespoke craftsmanship within the luxury interiors sector.

Meticulous attention to detail with an ability to quality control personal work projects.

Process orientated, highly organised with expert time management and planning skills.

Skilful communicator with strong interpersonal skills.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Excellent IT, spoken/written English and numeracy skills.

Qualifications and experience
A minimum of 5 years' experience within furniture, product design or other related sector.

Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.

Full, clean UK driving licence.
