About the rolenThe principle responsibilities of this role include:nProducing timely, safe, effective and economic design solutions in response to requests from operating divisions and external customers.

Design solutions will be required for both relatively routine problems and those, for which we have no previous experience to rely on, in which case the solution will be based on the Engineer's extensive experience of good engineering practice and innovative design skills.nLead design teams in delivering engineered solutions.

Design teams may consist of TEAM and contract staffnActing as technical and cultural mentor to less senior staffnRepresenting Engineering at commercial / project meetings and actively contribute to the project team through verifying design compliance against tender scopes and ensuring that the basis for TEAM's tender is appropriate.nRepresenting TEAM at client meetings and proactively lead technical conversation with full awareness of commercial matters.nActively working to achieving multi-skilling across the full suite of TEAM's products & services.nProducing detailed manufacturing drawings to implement design solutions to all relevant engineering and quality standards.nLiaising with Manufacturing during production, ensuring any required modifications are technically acceptable and properly controlled within the quality system.

9.nLiaising with external customers and operating divisions to optimise the design solution and ensure all requirements are met.nVisiting customer sites (including offshore and overseas) to carryout surveys, attend progress meetings etc.

1nMaintaining drawings and other engineering documents in accordance with departmental procedures and quality standards.nActively promoting our Core Values within all work based activities.


About you:
nTo be successful in this role, you will need:nStrong experience of good design practice, eg.

Geometric tolerancing, selecting Limits and Fits, designing for fabrication, designing for manufacture and designing for assembly.nChartered Engineer or evidence of working towards professional recognition.nMinimum BEng or BSc or equivalent qualification.nKnowledge of relevant sections of the pressure vessel codes ASME VIII and ASME B31.x is preferred.nKnowledge of design by analysis to ASME VIII or similar pressure vessel standard is preferred.nMathematical and mechanical science skills to degree level coupled with significant applied industrial experience.nVery high level of competence with SolidWorks or comparable 3d CAD package.nHigh level of competence with Ansys FEA.nA working knowledge of workshop fitting and assembly processes.

nA working knowledge of machining and related manufacturing processes

Working Conditions/Systems and Equipment UsednMainly office based.

Some travel to client sites onshore, offshore & overseasnLaptopnDesign equipment (Ansys Finite Element Analysis Package, SolidWorks, AutoCAD, MathCAD, MS Office, etc.)nContact with TEAM management and field staff at all levels.nContact by phone and site visits to customers – discussing problems and potential solutions.nReasonable out of hours support for owned projects when available via mobile phone and e-mail.nAdditional InformationnTEAM is a leading industrial services company offering an array of specialized services related to the construction, maintenance, and monitoring of pressurized piping and associated systems.
