Role:

The primary purpose of this role is to ensure processes and procedures required for customs and AEO compliance are adhered to locally and harmonised regionally where local requirements allow.

The role will encompass monitoring the customs documentation and the safety and security requirements of the full AEO accreditation (AEOF) held in regional countries.

A key feature of the role is to not only audit the overall level of adherence to the requirements of Customs authorisations and AEO but to also provide ongoing support at local level to ensure the responsibilities of the branches/ departments are not only understood but met in a timely manner.

The role will also ensure monthly and annual reporting requirements for local customs authorisations held by the branches, such as Simplified Customs Declaration Procedure (SCDP), Temporary storage arrangements and transit guarantee, are completed and submitted in line with customs requirements.


Key Responsibilities:
Auditing processes and databases to ensure the appropriate customer empowerment (Customs Representation Authorisation or CRA) is held, completed correctly and stored centrally in line with local proceduresAligning regionally, where feasible, and supporting locally with the creation, distribution and maintenance of standardised documents to support the customs process and AEO complianceEnsuring all the conditions of all local authorisations are known and adhered toConducting regular audits to verify accuracy of customs entriesLiaison and co-ordination with branch operations and premises management, to ensure that premises and security management actions, processes, and procedures are compliant with AEO Security requirements as part of combined AEO accreditationEnsuring branches undertake regular safety and security risk assessmentsEnsuring overall compliance with standard operating procedures for Customs and AEO processes is monitored and maintainedDirect liaison with external and internal customers where deemed necessaryDirect liaison with appropriate stakeholders in the UK and Ireland as well as Customs authorities (HMRC, REVENUE) and other agencies as and when necessary (including, but not limited to, Border Force and DEFRA)

Keeping up to date with on-going changes to relevant Customs procedures, legislation and Notices and applying those changes into the daily working tasks, processes and procedures as necessaryEnsuring an awareness culture regarding Customs and AEO matters within the operations departments, improving all-round general knowledge to foster a co-operative and productive working environment in which the importance of Customs requirements and the implications of non-compliance are understoodProactively review and, where feasible, aligned AEO procedures regionallyLead AEO reassessment eventsSupport local assurance events with local authoritiesEssential Skills & Experience:
