Our client is seeking a Trainee CNC Production Operative to work in our bespoke manufacturing department.

Working with wood - a great opportunity to learn and use computer technology, CAD, and modern programming software in the manufacturing of bespoke timber products.

The role starts on the shop floor and progresses through several stages:

introduction to basic operation of CNC machinesBasic setups of CNC, the use of fixtures and jigs, and the loading of programstool technology, care, mounting, and loading of high-value toolingUnderstanding cutting principlesThe use of CAM software (SolidCam) to program partsCAD software (SolidWorks) to draw parts and featuresThe creation of jigs, fixtures, and holding devicesExperience with various CNC machines This is a role with good progression opportunities.

Training will be given to the successful candidate in the following:

General Duties: Loading CNC machine and semi-automatic machineryChanging machine programmesChanging fixtures and jigs overCAD and CAM associated with the roleOrganising work areaAssociated duties involved in the production of CNC componentsTimber preparationMeeting daily production targetsAchieving required quality standardsWorking in a safe manner For the Trainee CNC Production Operative, it would be good to see candidates who are/have:Physically fitSelf-motivatedHigh level of common senseGood team workerFocussedCan do attitude For the Trainee CNC Production Operative, the following skills are essential:Computer savvyPractical and hands-onCan follow operating procedures and quality standards (training will be given)


Diligent with own paperwork in completing vital informationCan demonstrate a good work ethic and team spiritLiterate and numerate – maths to a high standardGood eyesightCan measure in mm, cm, and mtrsGood with hands and has good hand/eye coordinationReliable and conscientiousQuality conscious Hours Monday – Friday 8:00 am – 4:45 pmSalary: £8.
