Locum Childcare Paralegal - Up to £25 per hour Umbrella - Hybrid Working - West Midlands


Venn Group's specialist legal team are currently working with an established Local Authority in the West Midlands who are recruiting for a Locum Childcare Paralegal to join their department.


The role is offered for an initial period of
3 Monthsbut with a likelihood of being extended based on workload.


Duties may include:

  • Assisting Solicitors on a variety of Childcare matters
  • Preparing bundles for court and drafted court orders
  • Dealing with private law matters to include section 7 and section 37 cases
  • Hosting conference meetings, drafted witness statements and redacted documents
  • Providing legal support to one or more solicitor
  • Drafting of case summaries, briefs to counsel and letters of instruction to experts
  • Diary maintenance of solicitors and clients with court dates
  • Obtaining disclosure from third parties, such as schools, police and hospitals
  • Redacting of documents and carrying out disclosure
  • Making expert enquiries or obtaining counsel for hearings
  • Attending meetings and minute taking
  • Completing internal case lists for the progression of matters
