Support Medical Secretary

The Medicine Clinical Service Group are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and suitably qualified support medical secretary who will assist the Consultants, Nurses and other health professionals within the Respiratory service, working 37.5 hours per week based at the Royal Glamorgan Hospital.
The post holder will be required to demonstrate excellent typing, communication, organisational, clerical and IT skills. They will also be expected to work on their own initiative whilst working as part of a team.
It would be advantageous if the post holder was familiar with WPAS (Myrddin) and had a good understanding of the principles of RTT (Referral to Treatment Time).
An understanding of customer care and meeting the needs of the general public is necessary for this position, therefore an excellent telephone and communication manner will need to be demonstrated.
The main purpose of this role will be to provide the following secretarial office duties:
- Audio typing
- Mail and filing duties
- Tracking patient medical records
- Managing patient pathways
- Handling queries from patients, relatives, carers and external partners on a daily basis.
