We are delighted to advertise this part-time (25 hours per week) 12-month fixed-term/secondment** opportunity for a Clinical Educator within Family Care. This role will support the education and training of our ward-based Paediatric teams. We are looking for individuals who are enthusiastic about improving patient care through supporting Nurse and HCA education.

You will be a Registered Childrens Nurse with a Degree and will have a Mentorship Certificate or will have undertaken Preceptorship training. You will be able to work clinically with teams at ward/department level and will be supported to deliver key training objectives by the Matron and Lead Matron. **Please submit a fully-approved Secondment Form to Recruitment if you are wishing to undertake the role on a secondment basis. Main duties of the job You will be required to: Support the Trust's Governance and Patient Safety Agenda through active participation in the work of the Nurse Documentation Group and relevant training subgroups. Maintain the delivery and quality of services provided within the care environment, including the care delivered, supporting nursing standards and acting as a role model working clinically with staff where needed. Influence change and development of practice, utilising the most recent evidence base. Contribute to performance review of nursing staff where appropriate. Contribute to interview Panels, where appropriate in the Appointment of staff, and be aware of legislation and local HR policies affecting the employment of staff. Implement evaluation audits to measure the impact of educational programmes and disseminate the results. Support and deliver local competency-based induction for new staff and students to the Directorates. As a Professional Nurse Advocate (PNA) support provision of Clinical Supervision. Identify areas of good practice and provide opportunities for staff to share this across the Organisation. The primary purpose of this role is to support and deliver on-going education and training for nursing and teams. There may be a requirement to support members of the wider MDT to support implementation of wider service/pathway changes. Identify all opportunities for themselves and others where learning can take place, both formally and informally. Support a Training Needs Analysis and maintain registers of training as appropriate, support ward and departmental sisters/charge nurses to ensure mandatory training levels are compliant with Trust standard. Contribute to corporate training and education. Will be asked to support the roll out of practice development initiatives. Develop appropriate competency based clinical skills education and develop relevant competency assessment documents for approval by NEAG. Support the Trusts Governance and Patient Safety agenda through active participation in the work of the Nurse Documentation Group and relevant training subgroups.   • Ability to assist patients to move as per Trust Moving and Handling Policy.

  • Manual dexterity and up-to-date working knowledge of equipment e.g. syringe drivers, infusion pumps etc.

Qualifications Essential
  • Current level 1 NMC Registered Nurse (Child).
  • Degree in nursing studies or healthcare related subject (UK

  • Mentorship certificate/ Practice Assessor training or demonstrable
  • equivalent experience.
  • Experience in specialist areas.
Desirable
  • Working towards or educated to a Masters level.
