We have a fantastic opportunity for a Receptionist to join our team here at Ark Veterinary Practice

This role is approximately 38 hours per week, ideally working the below:

Monday 8am - 1pm ( 5 hours) Tuesday 8am - 7.30pm (unpaid hour lunch break Thursday 8am - 7.30pm (unpaid 1hour lunch break Friday 8am - 7.30pm (unpaid 1 hour lunch break 1 in 5 Saturdays - 8am - 1pm (counts for 1.5 hours per week)

We are looking for someone who can be flexible and are able to do additional hours to help with holiday cover.

As a Receptionist, you will provide a friendly and efficient service to our clients and their animals. You will need to be able to work well within a team as well as working individually, however support from your peers is always on hand. We are a professional and personable team working in a very challenging and busy environment, which makes the role varied, interesting and no day is ever the same The successful candidate will be working mainly with at least one other receptionist during the week, but on Saturday shifts they will be the sole receptionist.

You will need to have the ability to remain calm under pressure and also show empathy in each situation you encounter, from sharing the excitement of a puppy's first visit to the vets or comforting a client who has received some bad news. We are a busy practice in Fleet Hampshire with a varied team of 21 staff. The reception team is 5 strong.

Day to day duties of the role will include answering phones, responding to emails, booking appointments, registering new clients, completing insurance forms, dispensing medications, taking payments and providing a warm and welcoming experience to our clients arriving to the clinic.

Previous receptionist or customer facing experience is essential. Previous veterinary industry experience would also be highly beneficial but training will be given. Most importantly, we are looking for a team player who is flexible and adaptable - as there are so many aspects to the role, we need someone who is quick thinking and willing to learn

The salary for this position will be in line with National Minimum Wage.
