We are looking for an enthusiastic and dynamic individual to join our team and assist the Head of Imaging in maintaining clinical and professional standards whilst providing comprehensive and effective day-to-day management of the service.

The successful person will be responsible for line management of the team and the delivery of the General Ultrasound service, working closely with our team of Consultant Radiologists, and the Obstetric Lead Sonographer.

You should have a wide range of ultrasound experience gained over 5 years or more and some management experience.

Experience managing a team, and evidence of management training would be desirable, although not essential.


You will be actively involved in departmental audit activities, demonstrate a strong commitment to personal development, and must be able to provide evidence of supporting staff training and development.

Our department actively promotes a positive culture of CPD.


You should have strong leadership qualities, organisational skills and the ability to share and develop ideas to enable the delivery of a high quality service.

Excellent communication and team working skills are crucial.


You would be expected to be involved in the development of, and maintenance of staff rotas therefore experience in this would be advantageous.


It is essential you have a BSc (Hons) or equivalent in Diagnostic Radiography / Imaging Sciences with current registration with the HCPC, Postgraduate qualification in General Medical Ultrasound and be working towards Masters in Medical Ultrasound.

An up-to-date Continuing Personal Development portfolio is required.

You must be a car driver

The hours of duty are 37.5 hours, 9-5 Monday to Friday
