They are looking to recruit an Interim Charity Accountant to cover a period of transition.

Interim Charity Accountant - The Role
As Interim Charity Accountant you will be involved in the migration to cloud accounting whilst maintaining the finances of the charity.
Key responsibilities include:
- Manage and lead a small team;
- Preparation of the monthly management accounts pack and quarterly reports with variance analysis;
- Preparation and monitoring of the annual budget;
- Assisting with cash flow forecasting;
- Preparation of monthly income and fundraising reports;
- Monthly control account reconciliations;
- Preparing prepayments and accruals on a timely basis;
- Manage the bank accounts and complete a monthly bank reconciliation;
- Manage the AR and AP function;
- Oversee the outsourced payroll;
- Maintain and manage grants;
- Analyse investments to ensure sufficient liquidity at all times;
- Completing Gift Aid claims to HMRC;
- Develop systems and improve reporting processes;
- Manage the year end process and liaise with the external auditors;
- Assisting with various aspects of governance and administration relating to the accounts;
- Manage the transition to cloud accounting.
The Successful Applicant
As Interim Charity Accountant you will be a qualified accountant (AAT/ACA/ACCA/CIMA) who has experience of working in a similar role.
Ideally you will demonstrate:
- A motivated and diligent approach;
- Working knowledge of Sage 50 and/or Xero/Quickbooks desirable;
- Charity experience desirable;
- An ability to analyse and interrogate financial information;
- Strong Excel skills;
- Good communication skills;
- Ability to work independently with a proactive mindset.
