Estio Training have an exciting new opportunity for a Software Development Technician Apprentice with Supportwise, a Computer Support and Services Company based in Chippenham.
Job Description:
Your role will be internal, assisting all teams with any development queries they may have, as well as improving business processes where possible. You will aim to drive efficiencies within the business through Automations, Workflows, Website Developments and use of APIs.
For the management and technical teams, you will work with tools such as Odoo, Postman, Python, Webhooks, Azure Function Apps, Azure Logic Apps and Power Automate to unify operations and improve the current operations of providing customers with IT Support.
For Sales and Marketing, assistance may be required with WordPress, PHP, HTML and CSS but this will only cover a small area of work.
Your duties and responsibilities in this role will consist of:
- Using Azure Logic and Function Apps to write simple code (C#, .NET Core etc) to automate processes within the technical team.
- Use APIs from various vendors to improve data accuracy within these systems.
- Troubleshoot basic issues with websites (such as incorrect code) where required for our marketing team.
- Create new applications within the company which improve efficiencies, primarily in Python.
- Work with all teams to ensure that any applications built internally are securely developed.
Qualifications:
- 5 GCSEs grades A*-C/9-4 or equivalent (including English Language and Maths
Skills and Personal Qualities Required:
- Can work independently to understand new coding concepts.
- Can use tools which are made available to them to learn.
- Can communicate effectively with management.
- Can gel well with our team (5 people) and is sociable.
- Punctual and committed to the role.
- Willingness to manage adversity.
- Open and Honest.
Future prospects:
The role offers long term security and the opportunity to progress into a permanent position.
Training to be provided:
Estio apprenticeship training programmes are delivered virtually by our fully qualified and industry experienced training team. Using their expert knowledge, we've purposefully built our programmes around the real-world use of modern technology, so that the skills we create can be directly applied in the workplace.
Throughout the apprenticeship learners receive coaching, help and guidance from a dedicated team who are there to ensure they get the most from their work experience.
Successful completion of this apprenticeship gives you an accredited Level 3 Software Development Technician, with training in how to:
- Implement secure code in appropriate languages of different types.
- Support the communication of software solutions and ideas to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Conduct a range of test types.
- Build scripts in line with work instructions for deployment into the relevant environment.
- Design simple software solutions to meet your requirements using tools and techniques.
