An exciting opportunity for a Funding Manager has arisen to be based out of Fortescue's London office.

Key Position Specific Responsibilities:

nAssist with project business cases and provide supporting financial analyses to the Global Funding Team.nManage interactions with internal project managers and external due diligence partners to support the Senior Manager Funding with the structuring, negotiating, and execution of transactions and the implementation of project financing plans.nSupport the development of regional funding relationships, mapping the global project development pipeline of Fortescue.nWill guide the structuring of transaction funding from the start of the development process through the successful closing of an asset financing, investment, or funded acquisition as supported by the Group Funding team.nProvide structuring and funding guidance to internal stakeholders throughout the business development process, advising on commercial agreements, risk allocation, bankability of contracts, financing alternatives, and expected investment returns.nManage internal stakeholders to maintain financial model assumptions in line with Fortescue's group approach, while retaining responsibility for the accuracy and correct incorporation of relevant debt inputs and parameters to such models.nPresent funding structure opportunities to Fortescue Group Funding, defend project economics and risks in reviews, and prepare the project finance analysis required for senior management and board decisioning.nIdentify and articulate main project economic and financial risks, advise on appropriate mitigation factors and define appropriate contingencies.nLead as the funding point of contact for the business cases across EMEA and Latam project, as determined by the Senior Manager Funding.nHelp the Senior Manager Funding to develop creative financing strategies and drive the process of securing the most competitive sources of funding for our projects.nSupport Fortescue Funding with the process for in-market financial partner/ lender selection, including preparing teasers, IMs, and participating in meetings.nSupport engagement with prospective counterparties to clarify project valuations, risk allocation, assumptions, and market perspectives.nNegotiate the key financial terms of transaction documents.nManage multiple parties including banks, consultants, lawyers, and internal stakeholders to successful close.nActively contribute to the development of the Funding team.nDevelop and document financing, investment, and valuation best practices.


ExperiencenMinimum 8 years of European and international experience in a leading project finance bank, preferably in an advisory capacity.nBachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Economics, Accounting, or Engineering.nMBA, CFA, and/ or equivalent certifications are an advantage, but not a necessity.nDemonstrated expertise in developing and utilising detailed financial models.nKnowledge of global power, natural resources, and energy transition markets.nExperience advising on, structuring, and closing sophisticated project finance transactions, including due technical diligence, and reviewing, and negotiating commercial and financial documentation.nUnderstanding of bank credit and approval process, and project finance due diligence process.nGood network with project finance practitioners, including banks, lawyers, insurers, consultants etc.


Key AttributesnEstablish relationships in the leading project finance institutions, and a proven ability to build relationship networks in different regions and countries.nStrong Effective analytical skills, risk analysis expertise, and capability to drive insights from complex models.nStrong communication skills, ability to summarise and present complex funding cases.nAbility to manage multiple tasks concurrently with a high degree of accuracy.nAbility to work in a time-sensitive environment with non-flexible deadlines and calls outside traditional business hours, given Fortescue's global footprint.nStrong people skills and ability to work in a team environment.nAbility to work independently, and interact well in an international setting with remote teams.
