Location: Edinburgh and Musselburgh - With Hybrid / Flexible working
Salary: Competitive, Based on Experience
Contract: Permanent, Full time

The firm is highly regarded in various legal sectors including Medical Negligence, Family Law, Immigration, Conveyancing, and Litigation. They have a growing and diverse Private Client practice in their Head Office and branches.

About the Job:

Drummond Miller LLP is currently seeking a Solicitor to join their busy Private Client team in Edinburgh and/or Musselburgh. The role offers both hybrid and flexible working options.

Solicitor, Private Client - Purpose of Job:

You will be responsible for advising clients on various aspects of Private Client work such as wills, powers of attorney, executry administration, trusts, basic tax planning, asset protection, and guardianship.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Meeting and advising clients daily on Private Client matters
  • Preparing wills, including IHT planning and the use of trusts, and powers of attorney
  • Handling taxable and non-taxable executries, including all aspects of administration

Solicitor, Private Client - Qualifications/Skills Required:

The ideal candidate is a team player with NQ to 3 years of experience, confident, approachable, and possesses excellent communication and client care skills.

Key Qualifications & Skills:

  • Managing a busy workload with some supervision
  • Knowledge of IHT, capital taxes, and trusts
  • Understanding of guardianships and intervention orders
  • Ability to manage clients' expectations
  • Proven track record in Private Client work
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Interest in developing Private Client business
  • Strong research skills
  • STEP qualification would be beneficial
