AMS's products, manufactured in the UK, Germany, France, the Netherlands, the Czech Republic and Israel, are sold globally via a network of multinational or regional partners and distributors, as well as via AMS's own direct sales forces in the UK, Germany, Austria, the Czech Republic and Russia.

The Group has R&D innovation hubs in the UK, Ireland, Germany, France and Israel.

Managing the milestones of the Net Zero commitments made by AMS.
Improvements in the AIR Score at each facility (Air Score = AMS Groups Measure of Accident rate).
Ownership of H&S, Environmental and Energy Management systems.
EHS Projects for improvement are achieved on time in full to budget.
Focus on environmental objectives and delivery of AMS Groups "Net Zero" Journey.

Developing and maintaining safety & environmental policies and standards to meet current legislation to improve overall understanding and awareness.

Working to develop and continually improve existing policies and procedures.

Monitor, evaluate and review existing, new and upcoming Environmental, Energy related, Health and Safety legislation and ensure that the AMS Business has systems and procedures in place to meet legal compliance.

Work proactively with managers and other key staff to establish and maintain a programme of continuous improvement in the management of Environmental, Health and Safety within their areas of responsibility, which includes conducting regular audits.

Ensure that rigorous risk assessment and accident management systems are in place to enable the AMS Group, including those working away from offices and manufacturing location to undertake risk assessment processes to identify hazards and to ensure that appropriate control measures are in place.

Liaise with Occupational Health Service staff on health surveillance where a risk assessment has identified a need.

Provide staff with comprehensive and relevant information and training on Health, Safety & Environmental systems and procedures, including advising on equipment purchase and workplace practices.

Ensure that local personnel with responsibility for Health, Safety & Environmental maintain the accident and 'Near-Miss' platform and prepare reports for Health and Safety Committee and business leadership, using both statistical and other analytical tools.

Organisation and management of EHS maturity audits.
Project management of specific Safety and Environmental projects.
Management of key safety task groups. Risk Assessment, COSHH (& or National equivalent) and Environmental team.
Where the site is of sufficient scale, they will directly manage local EHS Officers.
Assessment of seriousness of workplace hazard and whether immediate action such as stopping work should take place.
Ensure projects meet the latest Safety Regulations (Local and Regional)
Company requirements to comply with legislation (Local and Regional).
Indirect supervision of SHE Co-ordinators when present.

Jobholder liaises with Health and Safety Enforcement agencies, Fire Department, Environment Agen cies , and Occupational Health providers/Company appointed Doctors.

The jobholder will be an active participant in Safety Management meetings and Project Review meetings.

The jobholder would be required to carry out presentations to senior management and management colleagues about developments and plans in the Safety and Environmental area.

Either a science or management-based bachelor's degree or equivalent, or one of the following: NEBOSH National Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety or Environmental Management.

NEBOSH International Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety or Environmental Management or equivalent.
Member of a recognised Health and Safety/Environmental/Risk Institute .
Good working knowledge of Microsoft packages.
Ability to communicate clearly and persuasively orally and in writing to a wide and varied audience.
Ability to work independently on own initiative with minimal supervision.
Ability to interpret and apply safety legislation and policy.
Ability to analyse business needs and make recommendations based on sound business knowledge and commercial acumen.
