We are seeking a qualified Finance Manager with experience in professional service firms, who is now keen to make their mark in industry, and ready to embrace the role of an entrepreneurial Finance Manager. You will be the focal point for service delivery to our multiple clients, with you acting as their fractional CFO and leading the rest of the (remote) Standard Ledger finance operations and analysis teams in effective delivery of services. You will be able to demonstrate a practical, hands on approach to managing and delivering finance functions to growing businesses, and be experienced in handling data, alongside the finances. As our remote team continues to grow, you'll work with them to increase their knowledge of the UK, build positive relationships, and ensure operational efficiency - all while being focused on our clients.

You'll also be involved in Standard Ledger's sales & marketing activities, engaging with prospective clients and handling inbound sales queries, all while growing your own network in the thriving UK startup ecosystem.   • Operational financial management:
  • Manage clients financial operations, incl budgeting, forecasting and reporting, with a focus on operational insights to support business decisions
  • Develop and refine clients financial operations in collaboration with the rest of the Standard Ledger team
  • Utilise financial software and data tools to enhance efficiency and improve financial integration and reporting
  • Ensure compliance with financial laws and standards
  • Client advisory including capital raising support
    • Offer operational financial advice and support to startups, aiding in their financial and operational growth
    • Provide capital raising support including building and reviewing financial models, pitch decks, and advising on valuations as well as participating in deal finalisation and due diligence
  • Remote team management
    • Work with supporting, growing and leading the remote service delivery team to provide quality services to clients
    • Ensure our team learns and is efficient
  • Sales and marketing:
    • Handle inbound sales queries from prospective clients, providing detailed financial service options and benefits
    • Offer operational financial advice and support to startups, aiding in their financial and operational growth
    • Become involved in outbound marketing and business development activities
  • Collaboration and leadership within Standard Ledger:
    • Work closely with the UK leadership and Standard Ledger's founders in strengthening Standard Ledger's position in the ecosystem, as a preferred provider to startups and scaleups

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Qualified Chartered Accountant (or equivalent) with extensive experience in financial management within a professional service firm
  • Proficient in handling multiple client accounts and responding effectively to inbound sales queries
  • Strong organisational and time management skills, with attention to detail and a genuine self-starter attitude
  • Client centric, meaning proactive and hands on, keen to keep clients ahead of their problems, and ready to seize opportunities with agile financial strategies
  • Excellent communication, capable of simplifying complex financial data for diverse audiences
  • Advanced financial software and technologies proficiency, and data handling experience
  • SaaS experience will be strongly favoured

Location:

This is a hybrid working arrangement so you get to choose the mix of working from home or a coworking space that suits.

We're flexible on where you are located within the UK, but we'll want you to be up for the occasional trip to London. Strengthening client relationships and other startup ecosystem partnerships will involve activities that are often based in/around London, so the ability to do this will be necessary at times.
