This is an exciting opportunity to work with one of the world's major collections of library materials from the Americas.


You will lead the curatorial team responsible for the management and development of the printed and digital collections from North America, Latin America, the Caribbean and Oceania and be responsible for the interpretation of these collections for a wide range of users.

Working closely with the Eccles Centre for American Studies, you will facilitate research for the academic community and develop collaborative research projects, participate in the Library's cultural programme by curating exhibitions and contributing to the events programme and develop content for our website for a range of audiences, all based closely on material in the collections.

You will manage the Americas & Oceanian Collections curatorial team and related budgets, ensuring an appropriate division of responsibilities and will take responsibility yourself for an area of the collections according to the needs of the department and your own expertise.

You will also participate in the Library's international engagement activities, liaising with Embassies and cultural institutions on matters relating to the collections.

The department has a particular focus on printed and digital materials from the mid-19th to 21st centuries, but you will also work across earlier historical periods and formats in collaboration with colleagues in other departments.
