This post is full time, 35 hours per week and fixed term and rotating for a period of three years, with the possibility of extension for a further two years. Following completion of the term of office, postholder will revert to a permanent substantive academic post.


Our students' films are shown at festivals globally and have won awards including Royal Television Society Awards, a Student Academy Award and a Grierson Best Student Documentary Award.

Our purpose-built facility in Harrow includes two large film and television studios, a set construction workshop, a 3D workshop, and extensive post-production facilities.

We are developing Virtual Production, MoCap and immersive learning spaces at Harrow campus, as well as doubling the capacity of the Emerging Media Space, which includes XR and emerging technologies.

These spaces are supported by specialist technicians.

The Assistant Head will also have the opportunity to continue some teaching and / or research in their field. Teaching in the School follows a fusion approach, being research-informed and practice-led. Teaching and research in the School are aligned with our world leading research institutes CAMRI and CREAM.

The University supports hybrid working, e.g. working from home for part of the week.
