Within Care and Rehabilitation Services, the philosophy of our prisons is to rehabilitate offenders and equip them to re-integrate into mainstream society on release.

We seek to normalize prison conditions as far as possible to reflect life in the outside community.

Our aim is to create an environment in which staff and prisoners feel safe and causes of prison stress are minimized.

Central to our philosophy is the relationship between staff and prisoners.

Our training and operational practices emphasize the need to treat prisoners with dignity and respect and G4S staff build positive and supportive relationships with the prisoners in their care.

HMP & YOI Parc accommodates 1038 convicted male adult prisoners and remand/ convicted young offenders and young people in a secure but modern environment.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify and source employment, training and ROTL opportunities with community partners to complement the work of New Futures Network and other employment agencies.
  • Work collaboratively with our learning and skills and regimes teams to ensure employment, education and training pathways are integrated
  • Work in partnership with colleagues to develop a system that identifies work ready prisoners and highlights actions needed to support prisoners to achieve work readiness.
  • Work with the Learning and Skills team to ensure the prison induction process properly:
  • promotes employment, education, and skills training opportunities to prisoners upon arrival at the prison
- effectively captures information relating to prisoner education, work experience and skills
- encourages prisoners to develop personal and social skills that improve employability

  • Organise regular opportunities for NFN and other stakeholders to bring employers into the prison and facilitate prisoner forums.
  • Work in partnership with Community Offender Management (COM) to ensure prison leaver information is supplied to relevant agencies post release in order to reduce duplication.
  • Liaise with COM to ensure prison leavers who require further support on release are signposted to Education, Training and Employment CRS who can continue to support them on their journey towards meaningful, sustained employment.

Essential:

  • Experience of working in employability services (training, work based learning, welfare to work)
  • Effective communication, negotiation and persuasion skills
  • Strong examples of collaboration
  • Experience of working with and growing a wide network of partners

Desirable:

  • Experience of working in resettlement services in a criminal justice context
  • Experience of working in prison employability services
