About the Role:

Dunbar Education is seeking a passionate and experienced Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant to join our dedicated team in Telford. This role involves working in a specialized setting, providing support to children with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the classroom teacher in delivering tailored educational programs for children with SEMH, ADHD, and Autism.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Provide one-on-one support and group interventions as needed.
  • Monitor and report on the progress and behavior of students.
  • Collaborate with parents, teachers, and external professionals to ensure the best outcomes for each child.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Prior experience working with children with SEMH, ADHD, and Autism in a special needs setting.
  • A relevant qualification in education or childcare (e.g., CACHE Level 3, NVQ Level 3, or equivalent).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A patient, empathetic, and resilient nature.
  • The ability to manage challenging behavior effectively.
  • An understanding of safeguarding and child protection policies.
