Working as a Team Leader at Kinnerton is rewarding & inspiring
As a Team Leader at Kinnerton, you will report into your Shift Manager, supporting to lead your shift of Production Operatives, Machine Operatives, Packing Operatives and Technicians.
You will actively operate and organise the factory in accordance with the daily production plan to meet all required targets, building an excellent technical understanding the plant.
Team Leaders at Kinnerton champion health & safety, food safety and quality to ensure that we provide our customers with the best products and service.
Our Team Leaders are excellent communicators, who are able to develop strong peer relationships to ensure everyone follows company policy and role model effective ways of working.
Shift Pattern
The shift pattern is a combination of 12 hour days and nights, following a 3 week rotation:
- Week 1: Sunday to Tuesday 18:00
- 06:00
- Week 2: Monday to Tuesday 06:00 18:00 & Wednesday to Thursday 18:00
- 06:00
- Week 3: Wednesday to Friday 06:00 18:00
Key responsibilities of a Team Leader at Kinnerton:
- Promote behavioural health & safety and compliance across your shift, challenging unsafe actions, monitoring accidents and near misses, completing safety walks and monitoring waste.
- Promote and implement the company food safety and quality policy by establishing practices to maintain a Food Safety and Quality focused mindset that holds people to account for those standards.
- Clearly communicate the daily plan, targets and areas of focus to your shift, ensuring that each area is equipped with the right skillset and also completing handovers for the next shift.
- Own and develop the shift training plan, monitoring and signing off of SOP's, to help your team improve their skills.
- Work in collaboration with the Shift Manager and HR regarding people processes such as investigations, disciplinaries, absence management.
- Inspire your team to be the best they can and enjoy the work they are completing.
- Collaborate with Supply Chain, Technical, Engineering and other departments as required.
Skills you'll need to succeed as a Team Leader at Kinnerton:
- Experience within a Team Leader/ Supervisor/ Coaching role
- Experience within food manufacturing
- Ability to work at a fast pace
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to lead and inspire others
- Strong computer and administrative skills
- Confidence in delivering training to new starters and existing employees which is relevant to their individual personal development
- Food safety & HACCP L2 training/ strong knowledge (where training is recently experienced Kinnerton can support with refresher training)
- Experience of working toward and communicating daily production plans and targets
- Good numeracy and literacy skills (GSCE or equivalent in Maths and English)
