JUNIOR MERCHANDISER

  • We are thrilled to introduce a great new opportunity for you. If you have what we are looking for then you could be our new Junior Merchandiser
  • You will bring some great experience from your 2+ years in a retail merchandising environment, and it will be even more amazing if you have worked in the digital field in the UK furniture and homewares _
- market. Don't worry too much if you haven't though as we know your exceptional skills in stock stock management, alongside planning and trading experience will see you in good stead to optimise overperformance whilst quickly responding to underperformance and delivering against KPI's._

  • You will be used to working side by side with colleagues in a Buying Team, leading on data driven initiatives and getting a kick out of analysing seasonal sales performance, building and delivering our product strategy as well as trading it to maximise sales and profitability._

What will you be doing in more detail?

  • Main responsibilities of the role include:

Key Duties and responsibilities

  • Manage sku level stock availability in line with business targets
  • Determine stock requirements, and sign off with senior management team prior to placing with suppliers / factories
  • Clearly communicate purchase orders requirements to 3rd party suppliers and production requirements to directsourcing team, and follow through to ensure they are fulfilled on time
  • Develop close working relationships with existing and new suppliers to ensure key business objectives are met
  • Analyse performance on an ongoing basis and work closely with the buying team to maximise profitability and minimise risk through efficient control of spend and stock levels
  • Propose and manage promotional activity, communicating with all relevant departments to ensure successful implementation and effectiveness
  • Work closely with the buying team to analyse seasonal sales performance, profitability, consumer buying patterns, market trends and competitor activity to identify areas of opportunity and risk
  • Work closely with the buying team to plan commercial ranges which meet the agreed strategy and deliver the agreed financial KPI's, and signoff with senior management team
  • Liaise with showrooms to ensure product displays include bestsellers and new lines, and to remove discontinued lines, where appropriate
  • Ensure showrooms are notified of all promotional activity and price changes in advance of 'go live' dates
  • Monitor competitor and market activity and keep own skills, knowledge and experience uptodate with the latest merchandising trends and techniques to ensure planning and trading processes are effective and up to date
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with all relevant departments

Who are we looking for?

  • Minimum 2 years Retail Merchandising environment Experience
Good knowledge of planning and trading best practice gained from other major UK retailer/s

  • Intermediate Excel and Word Skill
Good knowledge and experience of the UK furniture and homeware markets

  • Intermediate Power Point Skills
  • Proven track record of successfully implementing product strategy and achieving financial targets
