Elections Staff Wanted
Are you interested in getting involved at election time, either by being part of the postal vote opening process, working at a polling station or at the count? If so, we would love to hear from you.
The Returning Officer for Telford & Wrekin and our Elections Team are looking to recruit staff to fill the following vacancies:
- Postal Vote Opening staff from approximately mid-June to Early July 2024
- Polling station staff: Presiding Officers or Poll Clerks on 4 July 2024
- Count Assistants to work on 4 and 5 July 2024 You must:
- be aged at least 18 years of age
- be entitled to work in the UK (in accordance with the provisions of the Asylum and Immigration Act 1996)
- not work on behalf of a candidate during an election campaign
- not be related to a prospective candidate
- consent to working more than the normal working hours provided for by the working time directive (where applicable) How do I apply? Please email the completed application form to and the Elections Team will be in touch with you at an appropriate time.
