Our team provides complete steelwork solutions and engineering excellence by way of design, detailing, project management, welding, fabrication, trial assembly, surface treatment and installation all based on our 3.5 acre site in Westbury, Wiltshire which provides the perfect platform to deliver projects.

Manufacturing in carbon and stainless steels for structural, mechanical, architectural and bespoke equipment.

We are looking for an experienced Quality Inspector, ideally from a Steel fabrication background and you will be responsible for a variety of QC functions, concentrating on physical inspection, and including but not limited to:

  • Undertake inspections and quality control checks on fabricated and welded components during our production welding processes (MAG / TIG), while following weld procedures and welder qualification requirements
  • Liaising with Quality Manager / Lead Fabricators / Project Managers on inspection activities required on the shop floor
  • Supporting our production team to manage quality control of fabrication and welding and conducting weld audits to ISO 383
  • Supporting to make sure project processes are compliant with ISO 9001, ISO 45001, ISO 1400
  • Arranging and documenting NDT (nondestructive testing) and weld inspection test reports
  • Support internal & supplier audits
  • Consult with all parties to deliver our Quality Control & Inspection plans and reports for all manufactured equipment
  • Undertake inspections and quality control checks on subcontracted fabricated assemblies (at subcontractor premises)
  • Inspection of materials and checking material test certificates before fabrication can commence
  • Helping to raise nonconformances reports (NCRs)
  • Administrative duties
  • Actively work with the WPE team to drive Continuous Improvement

Person:

  • Have an experienced QC / Weld Inspection / Dimensional background
  • Previously worked in Steel fabrication or similar industry

Qualifications / Requirements:

  • PCN / CSWIP qualified in Visual Weld Inspection (desirable)
  • Relevant engineering / welding qualifications (RWC desirable)
  • Ability to use and have experience in use of Microsoft Office Tools (e.g., Excel, Word, Outlook, Project etc.)
  • Maths and English to GCSE standard

Role:

Monday to Friday (days) - Full time & Permanent

25 days paid holiday per year with company pension
